My SEO and Development Process
Everyone has their own approach when it comes to optimizing and designing a website. In the 15+ years I’ve worked in these industries, I’ve developed a process to garner results.

Search Engine Optimization Process
There is no one true way to perform SEO. However, in my 15+ years of experience, I’ve worked tirelessly to find a process that works for me. As the industry continues to grow and evolve, especially with the advent of GEO, AEO, etc., my process continues to evolve and the tools I use expand further.
Market Research and Goal Analysis
The first step to any effective SEO campaign is determining its goal. Am I meant to drive more organic traffic? Is the site meant to have more subscriptions? Customers for a new product? There are so many ways SEO can be implemented for a business. Establishing goals and expectations is the first step towards success.
Competitive and Technical Analysis
Next, I analyze the current state of the site. I identify what’s ranking, what issues appear, and what immediate changes need to be made. This is when I start to create a long-term and short-term strategy for content and technical optimization.
Auditing and Optimizing Content
One of the initial changes I prefer to make is optimizing content that is already there. This means identifying relevant keywords that rank 5 – 15 positions on Google and making changes to improve those ranks. These are simple fixes that can oftentimes lead to significant results.
Developing Long-Term Content Strategy
While small changes are being made, I prefer to simultaneously make a long-term strategy for more detailed changes. This is when I create content plans, technical optimization plans, start developing backlinking strategies, and more. These plans can take 6 to 8 months to fully implement and a few months before results are seen.
Evaluate and Make Changes to Strategy
No content strategy is perfect. After the first few months, I evaluate what’s working and then make changes. This could be changing priorities for content, developing landing pages for new marketing campaigns, or making changes based on the latest advancements in search engine optimization.
Content Writing Software
Content Writing Process
Effective content starts with understanding what your audience is searching for and ends with measuring how that content performs. My content writing process combines research, writing, optimization, and ongoing improvement to create content built for both readers and search visibility.
Keyword Research & Analysis
I begin by researching relevant keywords, search intent, competing content, and the questions people are asking to identify opportunities for useful, targeted content.
Draft the Content
Using the research as a foundation, I develop the structure and write content around the needs of the intended audience while keeping the topic, purpose, and search intent in focus.
Optimize for Search
The content is refined for search visibility through headings, internal links, topical coverage, metadata, readability, and other on-page optimization opportunities.
Review & Publish
Before publication, I review the content for accuracy, clarity, formatting, consistency, and overall quality before preparing the final version for the website.
Measure & Re-Optimize
After publication, performance can be reviewed over time to identify opportunities to update, expand, or re-optimize the content as search behavior and business needs change.
WordPress Development Software
WordPress Development Process
Creating the right website for a client involves clear communication and understanding. Turning a client’s vision into a tangible reality is always my goal when developing a site. Whether my client wants a site created completely from the ground up or to remake something already existing, my services are available.
Purpose and Functionality
The first step for any WordPress development project involves communicating with the client to understand the purpose and functionality of the site. This is when I determine the number of pages necessary, the general look and feel of the site, and information about the business or individual.
Gathering Design Reference
After speaking with the client, I start to gather reference and begin making early mock-ups with the website. I may ask the client to provide me with links to websites they like or highlight some features or aspects of the website they want to help narrow down my search for references.
Initial Design and Review
After an initial design is made, I’ll reach out to the client and walk them through the initial mock-up. This is when the client can suggest changes to be made to the site design, such as visual components, logos, colors, etc. If the client approves, we can get to the development portion of the site.
Early Development
To develop the site, I create mockup environment. I’ll create each page and give regular updates to the client. I try to give a general estimate on progress and when the project will be completed.
Testing and Final Review
After the site is completed, I do final testing, make changes and adjustments for responsive design, and provide the website to the client for the final design. Once the final design is approved, I make one last test to ensure everything is working properly and then I hand over the finalized site to the client.
